Back when the samurai ruled Japan... The masked devils wiped out all but one of the Shinsengumi members who had worked to preserve public order and welfare in Kyoto. 7 criminals are chosen as substitutes for the deceased members of the Shinsengumi, and are led by Ichibanboshi, whose parents were also killed by the masked demons. He becomes a replacement for Commander Isami Kondo and follows the Masked Devils with the other replacements to avenge his parents' death.
