On the anime's official website it has been reported to viewers that several employees of the anime test positive for coronavirus. This has caused the company to shut down from 6 to 17 April, causing a setback for the series.
The sixth episode of Kawaii dake ja nai shikimori-san aired on 14 May as scheduled. It will be followed by a revised schedule. The re-enactment of the first episode will air on May 21 with audio commentary by the cast. On 28 May and 4 June, the series returns with episodes 7 and 8 but there is a new season on 11 June. On that day, a special recap of the cast's favourite scenes will be aired. From 18 June, the weekly serialisation will continue as normal until 9 July, when the twelfth episode is scheduled.
